LSS of The Week - You Are a Tourist by Death Cab for Cutie

The past few days has been hot literally here in Manila. As much as I don't want to get excited for the upcoming trip this weekend.  I can't help not to think of just lazing out in the beach because of the summer heat. Just the thought of visiting another place and the feeling of being a "tourist" excites me more.

Lately I've been playing Death Cab for Cutie's "You Are a Tourist" to get this summer state of mind. I really like this track because the sound of it is somewhat nostalgic. The guitar riffs makes you think of the past and just sway. Lyrically it's good as well as the arrangement. Anyway here is my favorite part of the song,

That sometimes the best intentions are in need of redemption's.
Would you agree? If so please show me

"You Are a Tourist" is the first single of DCFC's upcoming album "Codes and Keys"  to be released in May 31st.

Listen to  DCFC's "You Are a Tourist".

Awesome Things : Hannibal

Awesome Things 8/1000 - Hannibal

Since its a holiday this is the perfect time to go back on the things I've been missing from the past. The Hannibal movie series has always been a favorite, though I only got to watch them on downloaded format. Finally I'll be able to complete the whole series in 3 hours.

LSS of The Week - Always by Switchfoot

I've been missing on some the best concerts lately. As much as I wanted to go see  these bands live, I wound up being disorganized and missing on tickets because most of the time I'm out-of-town on weekends or I'm just broke ass. After The Script concert in Araneta last Saturday, another great band is set to conquer Manila on April 30 - Switchfoot Hello, Hurricane Tour.  I've been a fan of this band way back from the empowering soundscapes of  Nothing is Sound to the lightness of Oh! Gravity. And since it's the season of lent might as well put "Always " on your playlist.  A calm, beautiful song with a subtle splice of spirituality in the lyrics.

Awesome Things - This is Our City

Awesome Things 6/1000 -  This is Our City

After Up Dharma Down, another local band has been heralded by Time Magazine as one of the Asian bands to watch out for 2011. With nostalgia-inspired lyrics, androgynous vocals, and a music that just gives you freedom to let loose - I'm not surprised that they will be recognized by such international audience. After their debut album "Endings of a New Kind" in 2008, the band finally launched their second album "Dualist" last Friday. Unfortunately I wasn't able to go to the album launch due to to hefty workloads in the office. Good thing I was able to hear "This is Our City".

Awesome Things : The Finish Line

These days a lot of us are filled with discontentment as life demands become overwhelming   While I was in the office yesterday, I was able to skim a book entitled "The Book of Awesome" by Neil Pasricha. A book compose of short stories with regards to life's simple pleasure - from coffee break and good conversation to finishing Angry Birds level with three stars. Nothing complicated just pure appreciation of all the things we tend to overlook in our everyday life. That's why I decided to make my own list starting today.

                       1/1000 - The Finish Line

Nat-Geo Earth Run 2011, we had to wake up very early as the run starts at 0530AM. Started a bit slow in the beginning due the number of participants but as we approach the 3KM mark things go well as we stride to the finish line. 'Langya sa susunod 10K na!
